This is a characteristic of the product and has nothing to do with our store or its authenticity. All of our NeeDoh products are authentic and arrive factory sealed from reputable suppliers.
We suggest soaking them in a baking soda and water solution, then rinsing and allowing them to air dry completely. This has worked well for our own family and for others who have experienced the same issue.
